Vertical blinds are fabric slats that are clipped to a sliding track at the top and operated with a plastic wand or chain. These fabric pieces (also known as louvres or slats) are joined together by weights to ensure that the louvres are evenly weighted across the length of the track, whether fully extended across the track or nestled together to allow extra light inside. The louvres are also joined together by a chain at the bottom which works to stabilise the blinds.

During the manufacturing process, a chemical substance has been added to the fabric to reduce the likelihood of the finished product catching fire and to slow the combustion process.

About your vertical blind
you can choose from a vertical louvre width of 89mm or 127mm in a choice of colours and finishes (see individual fabrics for availability). All our blinds are made to measure to your specifications.

all our vertical blinds are manufactured on a white aluminium headrail. All vertical blinds are supplied with the 'child safe' wand control, white plastic hangers, plastic stabilising chain, white bottom weights and top fix brackets as standard.

all vertical blinds can be supplied with the controls on either the left or right. Vanes can be bunched to the left, to the right or split in the middle. If you select split please note that safeguard vertical blinds will feature 2 wands in the middle of the blind.

to make fitting your vertical blinds as easy as possible, all our blinds are supplied with weights and chains already inserted into the louvres.

a cord tidy is fitted to all blinds to assist with child safety.

white plastic or nickel /silver operating chain can be specified at time or ordering.

the wand control option is standard on al vertical blinds. A neat single wand control operates the draw and the tilt of the louvres thus eliminating the danger of children or vulnerable people becoming entangled in cords.

for the ultimate custom blind, we offer a mix and match louvre service where you can alternative the colours of the louvres in your vertical blind. You can choose between a maximum of 2 colours (dependant on fabric selection) and these must be all in the same price group. The surcharge for mixed louvres is 10%.

there are a number of fixing options available when ordering. Top fix brackets are supplied as standard. Face fix, shallow fix and extension brackets are also available.
