Venetian blinds have horizontal slats made from either wood or metal and are held together by cords that run through the blind slats. They can be tilted easily to let in more or less light, and they're easy to raise and lower.

50mm-Slat 50mm-Slat
Slats are the horizontal pieces that you tilt, raise, and lower when operating your blinds. These slats are 50mm, 5cm, 2" wide.
Homeowners with medium to large windows often prefer the 50mm slats for their blinds, since the larger slat size appears to be more proportional to the size of the window and let more light into the room. If you have smaller windows you may wish to choose the narrower slats creating a subtle look in the room.

About your faux wooden venetian blind
- all blinds within our Expressions range are made from faux wood. There are 3 slat widths available 38mm, 50mm and 63mm. Please see individual slats for availability. Faux wood slats look and feel just like real wood but they are water-resistant and flame retardant so they won't crack or warp in moist conditions.
- the Expressions 38mm has a headrail of 39mm x 39.8mm and the 50mm/63mm faux wood Venetian blind has a headrail that is 58mm wide x 39.5mm deep.
- all faux wooden blinds within this range include a valance/pelmet to match the wood slats. Blinds measured recess will be supplied with a straight valance, blinds measured exact will be supplied with a mitred valance.
- cords, ladder braids and wooden acorns are fully colour-coordinated (where possible) with the chosen wood colour.
- all faux wood blinds can be tilted, raised and lowered by separate controls. The tilt cord is positioned on the left and the raise and lower cord is positioned on the right.
- a cord consolidator is fitted to all wooden blinds to assist with child safety. A child safety device is still required.
- all our blinds include brackets suitable for top/face and side fixing.
- due to the thickness of the wood slat the stack of the blinds will vary when in the raised position. The following details are for guidance only. These should be increased by 10% for blinds supplied with tape.
